China in Beijing on Thursday stressed the development of its comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership with Vietnam.
The China-Vietnam comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership has undergone stable development with great results and friendly cooperation in politics, economics, military affairs, security and culture, bringing tangible benefits to the people of the two countries, Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping said while meeting with Vietnamese Defense Minister Phung Quang Thanh Thursday.
This year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of China-Vietnam diplomatic ties and is also the Year of Friendship between the two countries, Xi noted.
He said the two countries expect to take the opportunity to further strengthen political mutual trust, consolidate traditional friendship, boost reciprocal cooperation, and properly address sensitive issues.
This will promote the development of a comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership and contribute to regional and world peace, stability and prosperity, he added.
Phung Quang Thanh expressed his condolences for the victims of the 7.1-magnitude earthquake which struck northwest China's Qinghai Province on April 14.
Vietnam will continue to implement its friendly policy to China and is willing to boost cooperation in various fields, Phung Quang Thanh added.
