The anti-government United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) will not stage any rally on Friday, its core leader Jatuporn Promphan said.
Whatever the verdict outcome will be, the UDD, or red-shirted people, will not gather at state-owned Channel 11 or also known National Broadcasting of Thailand (NBT), or in front of the Court, Thai News Agency quoted Jatuporn as saying.
From about 13:39 p.m. local time, the Supreme Court's Criminal Division for Holders of Political Positions started to deliver a verdict on the 76 billion baht (2.29 billion U.S. dollars) asset seizure case of ousted former Thai premier Thaksin Shinawatra.
A lawyer of the ousted former Thai premier, Mrs. Pojaman Na Pompetch, the former wife of Thaksin, and their children, including Miss Pinthongta and Mr. Panthongthae Shinawatra, were also present at the Court.
In a related development, Thaksin supporters were gathering and listening to the verdict in the northern province of Chiang Mai.
Meanwhile, the ousted former Thai premier's family in Sankampaeng district of Chiang Mai -- the birthplace of Thaksin -- arranged a merit-making ceremony.
However, the family's members denied to comment on the court reading, saying they have accepted the justice's process.
And at 20:30 p.m. local time, ousted former Thai premier Thaksin will discuss about the court's ruling on People Channel TV.
