Iran's deputy speaker of the parliament said Thursday that Iran will stop the enrichment of high-grade uranium if the 20 percent fuel is delivered to Tehran under Iran's conditions, Iranian Labor News Agency (ILNA) reported.
"If they (West) accept to swap the (20 percent uranium) fuel simultaneously in Tehran, we will stop the production of 20 percent fuel," Mohammad-Reza Bahonar was quoted as saying.
"We have the capability to produce the 20 percent fuel, and, to prove this, the president has ordered to begin its production," Bahonar told the reporters in a press conference.
Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said last Tuesday that Iran is to pursue its plan for enriching high-grade uranium for its research reactor, but is still ready to exchange its low-grade uranium for 20 percent uranium fuel.
Ahmadinejad announced last Thursday that Iran had produced first batch of 20 percent enriched uranium under the watch of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
