Jamaican Prime Minister Bruce Golding is to pay an official visit to China from Feb. 1- 5 at the invitation of Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Ma Zhaoxu made the announcement in Beijing Thursday at a regular press conference.
During the visit, Chinese leaders will meet or hold talks with Golding, Ma said, adding the two countries will ink cooperative documents on areas including economy and trade.
This will be Golding's first visit to China since he took office in 2007, and China believes the visit will further China-Jamaica relationship, Ma said.
Ma said since China and Jamaica forged diplomatic ties in 1972, the two countries had enjoyed smooth development of relationship, frequent high-level contacts, deepening political mutual trust and closer cooperation in all fields.
