Afghanistan's Independent Election Commission (IEC) has postponed the parliamentary election due to lack of fund and security problems, spokesman for the body said on Sunday.

"The parliamentary election was postponed from 1st Jauza (22 May) to 27th Sinbillah (18 September), Noor Mohammad Noor told Xinhua.

He also added that for holding the legislative vote, IEC needs 120 million U.S. dollars while the body just has 70 million U.S. dollars.
