Blast wounds provincial governor in E. Afghanistan

A bomb planted by militants hit the governor house in Khost city, capital of the Khost province east of Afghanistan wounding the acting governor and six others Thursday, the police said.
"The rebels planted a mine under the wall outside the governor's office and detonated it this morning when the acting governor had meeting with local officials," Guldad, director of the crime investigation department of the provincial police, told Xinhua.
"as a result, seven persons including the acting governor sustained injuries," Guldad said.
He blamed the enemies of peace, a term used against Taliban militants, for organizing the attack.
Amir Badshah Mangal, director of the health department of Khost province also in talks with Xinhua said that seven persons including the acting provincial governor Tahir Khan Sabari, his secretary, head of the provincial education department, a teacher, a reporter and a cameraman of the local television channel were injured in the blast.
The police and soldiers have cordoned off the area and do not allow people including journalists to get access to the site of the blast.
This was the second blast in Khost city since Wednesday.
In the previous blast ripped through a cellular phone shop, 13 civilians were injured.
