Indonesia's President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said that the country's inflation in 2009 is expected to reach inflation below 3 percent in 2009, the best inflation level in the last 20 years, detikcom online news reported on Monday.
"If all runs smoothly, God willing we could reach the best inflation in 20 years. Our inflation is expected to reach below 3 percent. This is a good trend," said the president at the presidential palace.
The president was also proud of the country's economic growth of 4-4.3 percent amidst unsettled global economic crisis.
"Our economic growth is better than goods price increase. Imagine, we manage to grow amidst unsettled global economic crisis, " said Yudhoyono.
The Central Bureau of Statistic recorded inflation of 2.45 percent during January-November and year-on-year inflation of 2.41 percent.
