Chinese Vice Premier Hui Liangyu left on Sunday for the World Summit on Food Security and an official visit to Syria.
His trips are respectively at the invitation of Jacques Diouf, director general of the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and Syrian Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah al-Dardari.
An earlier statement by the Chinese Foreign Ministry said the UN food meeting was scheduled for Nov. 16 to 18 in Rome, Italy and the Syria visit were from Nov. 18 to 20.
