China on Friday rejected a U.S. report accusing China of building cyber warfare capabilities against U.S. targets as "fabrications."
A report released Thursday by the U.S.- China Economic and Security Review Commission to the Congress said China was ratching up cyber espionage operations against the United States.
"The commission has always played up 'China threat,'" Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ma Zhaoxu said when asked to comment on the report.
"It has arisen out of a 'Cold War mindset'," Ma said. "The commission should stop releasing such kind of reports and instead do something that will benefit the China-U.S. relations."
