The annual prime ministers' meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) will be held in Beijing on Oct. 14, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Jiang Yu announced on Tuesday.
Jiang told the regular press conference Tuesday that leaders or their representatives from Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, the SCO observer nations and other relevant countries would attend the meeting at the invitation of Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao.
They will exchange views in depth on implementing the consensus reached at the annual summit of the SCO in Russia's Yekaterinburg this June, tackling global financial crisis and deepening cooperation on culture and regional economy.
