Honduras imposes indefinite curfew

Honduran interim government imposed on Wednesday an indefinite curfew starting at 5 p.m. (2300GMT).
The government said in a communique that it "will opportunely inform the time when it is going to finish."
On Wednesday morning, the government suspended the curfew for seven hours, for the people to get supplies of food, fuel and money.
The Hondurans crowded the supermarkets, drugstores, gas stations and banks.
Government spokesman Roy Artur Leilors read the communique saying "ambulance, medical and nurse staff could be transit with the authorization of the director from their respective institution."
"We beg your patients, comprehension and collaboration with these measures taken to protect the tranquil life and goods of the people," he added.
Since Monday when deposed President Manuel Zelaya returned to Honduras, the interim government decreed a curfew from 4 p.m. (2200 GMT).
