The crews broadcast a statement in Chinese and English to warn the Japanese ships that they had infringed upon China’s territory, and demanded that they leave immediately.

Wang Lei, crew member of Chinese Marine Surveillance Ship, said, "Patrol ship PL64 from the Japan Coast Guard, this is China’s Haijian 50. The Diaoyu Islands are part of Chinese inherent territory, as are waters within 12 nautical miles surrounding the islands. You are entering Chinese territorial waters, please leave immediately."

The announcement was also showed on screens.

The 4-hour patrol was completed after the fleet sailed around Diaoyu Island and its affiliated islets.

Regular patrols like this have been carried out since September.
