Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao says the country's economic growth has started to stabilize and witness positive changes with the economy running well in the third quarter. |
He also points out that the country will still face considerable challenges in the final quarter of the year, but that the government is confident to achieve its full-year economic growth target of 7.5 percent. Furthermore, he says China will not relax its restrictions in the housing market aimed at cooling price rises.
Premier Wen made the comments during discussions with business leaders and economists on China's current economic situation in several cities across the country over the last couple days. Since the start of year, China has been under pressure of an economic slowdown, partly due to shrinking foreign demand. But since May, the government launched a slew of measures to stabilize growth in the world's second-biggest economy.
