China's inflation rose in March, but stayed below the government's target. The price of cooking oil, though, is firmly on the rise. The country's top economic planner has reportedly urged the nation's major cooking oil producers to suspend price hikes for two months in a bid to stabilize the market.

Data shows that the price of cooking oil in China has been steadily advancing since the end of March. On the back of increasing global soybean prices, soybean oil prices have increased some 15 percent this year, to 10 thousand and 350 yuan per ton.
