Chinese Vice President arrives in Los Angeles

Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping has arrived in Los Angeles for the last leg of his first official trip to the United States.

His Thursday tour to the Port of Los Angeles is part of a visit that includes an economic forum and luncheon with the US Vice President, Joe Biden and the governor of California, Jerry Brown.
He is meeting Brown, Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and the head of China Shipping, which is undergoing a 121 million dollar expansion to its port terminal that will more than double its area to 142 acres.

Xi Jinpings visit is the first to Los Angeles by a high-level Chinese official in 13 years. He will conclude his trip Friday night by joining Villaraigosa at a basketball game between the L.A. Lakers and the Phoenix Suns.
