The Tiangong-1 and Shenzhou-8 have entered into reversed flying mode and getting in position for their second docking.
Ever since the first successful docking on November 3rd, engineers on the ground have been preparing for the second one. They have run a dozen simulations to ensure the reliability of the second docking and have prepared hundreds of emergency backup plans.
Ma Yongping, Vice-director of Aviation Control, said "The reason we did so many simulations is we want to see whether the emergency plans can meet our requirements during the separation process. And also, we need to know whether the systems can work in coordination with each other during the actual flight to ensure the safety of the spacecraft."
