The toddler who miraculously survived a fall from her 10th-floor home in Hang-zhou,east China, is recovering quickly. There is steady improvement in her left arm. The 2-year-old has been transferred from the intensive care unit.
"It's hard to believe this two-year-old girl, nicknamed Niu Niu, was so close to death 3 weeks ago." Niu Niu's father said, "Witnessing her progress everyday, we are more and more confident."
In front of the camera, Niu Niu displays her big smile. Her right hand is able to play with her dolls having already recovered, while her left hand improves daily.
Du Lizhong, Head of Zhejiang Children's Hospital, said, "The muscles in both her upper arm and forearm on the left are recovering. She can raise it. It's really good progress."
Niu Niu's eye-sight is also recovering. She is now able to locate toys without having them put in front of her. The doctors also say the infection that followed surgery has been controlled.
Now Niu Niu has been transferred to an ordinary ward, to receive further rehabilitation. Her mother says Niu Niu now has a good appetite, that she can eat some noodles and porridge.
Niu Niu fell from her 10th story apartment on July 4th, and was caught by a young woman who happened to be walking by.
