A fire at an oil refinery in Guangdong Province has been put out. The fire took hold early on Monday morning in Huizhou City. No casualties were reported.
The incident happened after oil leaked from equipment at the Huizhou Refinery that is operated by the China National Offshore Oil Corporation. More than 40 fire engines were used to contain it.
A company spokesman said there were no toxic emissions, as only carbon dioxide was detected in the smoke. It is expected the refinery will resume production within a week. The cause of the accident is being investigated.
