The State Oceanic Administration has blamed last month's massive offshore oil spill on US energy giant ConocoPhillips. The spill has been brought under control, after causing damage to the marine environment.
At first glance, water near the oil spill site seems as clear as before the disaster.
No oil film has been detected where two separate spills occurred last month.
The accident was brought under control on June 21st, and clean-up work is almost finished.
Red buoys seal off a section near the Penglai 19-3 B drilling platform.
Beneath the water's surface is an oil pipeline that goes to the bottom of the seabed.
Then, came a fishing boat.
The crew there say they are responsible for patrolling the sea and preventing other boats from drawing closer to the drilling platform.
According to the crew, after the oil spill, two oil-absorbing ships as well as 12 other ships were dispatched to the area.
Even the patrol boats were involved in the work.
So far, some ships are still carrying out the operation.
Crew said "The boat has wings, and keeps absorbing oil. The major part of the clean-up operation lasted for 6 or 7 days."
The Penglai 19-3 drilling platform is China's largest offshore gas field.
Covering an area of more than 3-thousand square meters, it has an oil storage capacity of one billion tons.
