Vice President Xi Jinping has met with European political party leaders in Beijing. They're attending the three-day Second China Europe High Level Political Parties Forum.

On behalf of Communist Party of China, Xi Jinping welcomed the arrival of the European political party leaders. He says Sino-European ties have seen positive development over the past thirty years. Xi points out that by exchanging views on development ideas and goals, Chinese and European political leaders have contributed a lot to promote the development of Sino-European comprehensive and strategic ties.

The forum is held under the background of China rolling out its 12th Five-Year Plan while Europe launches a 10-year strategy, the EU 2020 strategy. Xi Jinping hopes political leaders from both sides will take advantage of the forum as a platform to deepen cooperation and enhance dialogue and understanding.
