The wait is over for a highly anticipated TV movie chronicling the romance of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
"William & Kate" premiered on the Lifetime channel in the US last week and in the UK on Easter Sunday. Let's find out if it received a royal reception.
On screen couple Camilla Luddington and Nico Evers-Swindell play the real life lovers. The two stars attended a photocall outside Westminster Abbey in London on Monday.
The film was directed by Mark Rosman and produced in the five months since the couple went public about their engagement last November.
Despite the attention that the film has received worldwide, it has been slammed by critics. Some of them note inaccuracies with the movie being shot mostly around Los Angeles.
But the actors defend some of what's been criticized.
Camilla Luddington said, "I think with anything that you do there are good and bad reviews. We think it's kind of funny sometimes and we just hope that people like the film and it's just fun and -- a guilty pleasure and we hope that everyone just sees it for what it is and it gets them excited about the wedding day, too."
Nico Evers-Swindell said, "This is intended to be like an envelope to the invitation to the wedding, you know. So it's just here to get people excited -- it's a wonderful compliment -- to what's gonna unfold here in a few days."
Lifetime isn't the only cable network with a TV film about Prince William and Kate Middleton.
The Hallmark Channel will also be going into production on a movie titled "William & Kate: A Royal Love Story." It will premiere on August 13th.
