At least 17 people have been killed in a blaze in a four-story building in southern Beijing early Monday.

Xinhua News Agency says 24 other people were injured. The fire broke out at about 1 a.m in Da-xing, a Beijing suburb.

The fire has been put out, but the cause is not known.
