The scattered remains of a crashed US F-15 fighter jet, along with two 1,000 pound missiles left in the wreckage, have been disposed of by a team of international demolition experts.
The F-15, which crashed on March 22, was subsequently bombed by US forces to destroy sensitive technology. Both crew members survived the crash.
It also left two massive missiles that posed a serious hazard to the rural farming community outside the rebel stronghold Benghazi. One local man was injured in the US bombing of the wreckage.
With support provided by the UN, a crew from the U.K. along with several rebels, disposed of the missiles and buried the remains of the fighter jet.
