China and Brazil have agreed to expand cooperation in trade and technology. That's the latest message from the summit between Chinese President Hu Jintao and his visiting Brazilian counterpart Dilma Rousseff.
It's Rousseff's first visit to China since she took office in January. She's leading a delegation of business leaders from the country's top companies. Both leaders expressed willingness to enhance cooperation in various fields, and deepen their relations.
Meanwhile, President Hu called for mutual trust to ensure their cooperation can benefit both sides. He also urged stronger ties in technology, and called for exchanges on measures that can improve people's well-being.
The two countries also signed a raft of commercial investment agreements. They also pledged to work together on international issues, such as climate change and sustainable development. The two leaders will be joined by the leaders of Russia, India and South Africa for the BRICS leaders' meeting in China slated to kick off April 14th.
