Now let's turn to Yushu county in northwest China's Qinghai Province where a strong earthquake killed 22 hundred people on April 14th last year.

Reading on a spring morning is a tradition at Yushu No.3 primary school. But this year, the classrooms are cold.

A year ago, the magnitude 7.1 quake hit the county. All the school buildings were destroyed, leaving 3 thousand students to study in temporary classrooms built by the local government.

The earthquake may have destroyed their surroundings, but not their dreams.

"I want to be a writer like Hans Christian Andersen, and write lots of fairy tales. I want to be an architect and build a more beautiful Yushu."

Now they hope they can try realize their dreams in new classrooms very soon.

Headmaster said, "The new classrooms will be finished before September the 1st, which is the first day of the new semester. The buildings will accommodate all 3 thousand students.

The students are excited.

"What do you hope from the new school?"

"Library! Toys! Gymnasium!"

2011 is a crucial year for the rebuilding of Yushu county. The central government plans to invest 20 billion yuan this year alone. Nearly two thirds of the new Yushu county will be finished, which includes 13 new schools.

Once again, reading on a spring morning can become a tradition again.
