President of International Cricket Council, Sharad Pawar, is urging the public to cooperate with the police in taking all security measures for the Cricket World Cup final between India and Sri Lanka in Mumbai on Saturday.
Security officials took their final positions in and around the stadium, turning it into a fortress. Strict surveillance of all visitors and officials at the stadium was being carried out at the entry gate of the stadium.
Helicopter surveillance, marine commandos and the Indian Naval Base would be on standby and all entry points from the sea will be sealed on the day.
The council's President Pawar noted that so far World Cup matches had been held in an organized manner, and hoped the final match would go smoothly as well.
