The western-led coalition force has carried out new air strikes on Libyan cities.
The coalition renewed strikes on the capital Tripoli and its outskirts. Libya's state television says the air raids targeted both military and civilian facilities. Libyan forces responded to the air strikes with anti-aircraft gunfire. Gaddafi's stronghold of Sirte was also under attack by air strikes.
The city is strategically located about halfway between the rebel-held east and the Gaddafi-controlled west. Meanwhile, French fighter jets launched attacks on armored vehicles of the Libyan government forces and a military arsenal in the Misrata and Zintan regions.
