As the protests in Egypt continue, President Hosni Mubarak has addressed the nation on the tense situation. He said he regrets the death of innocent victims in the protests, and at the same time, respects legal expressions of freedom.
The president says he has ordered his government to step down and will form a new one tomorrow. In addition, he promises to work for more democracy. He said he is committed to economic and political reform and is determined to secure the stability of his country.

He said Egypt should be aware of examples of instability around the country and problems should not be dealt with through violence or chaos.
