South Korea has decided to accept a proposal from the DPRK to hold high-level talks, aimed at defusing military tensions on the peninsula.

Seoul, also plans to suggest, holding separate meetings with government officials from Pyongyang, to discuss the issue of denuclearization.

In addition, South Korea will propose a number of preparatory summits, prior to the high-level talks. Those discussions, if held, will mark the first major contact between the two sides in several years.
