Huangshan Mountain in east China's Anhui Province is listed among the country's top 10 most popular tour sites.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of its UNESCO listing as a world heritage site, prompting a series of celebrations.
Officials from different heritage protection organizations have begun celebrations by sharing their experiences of the famed mountain's success in protecting its heritage.
Since its UNESCO World Heritage listing 20 years ago, Huangshan Mountain has taken various measures to maintain its natural beauty. Among these, a measure has been taken to relocate all administrative offices and other living facilities out of the scenic area.
The mountain's namesake Huangshan pines, which are native to east China, are cared for by specially trained staff who ensure the evergreen tree remains plentiful.
The efforts in protecting the landscape has won Huangshan more than 40 international and domestic awards. Over the past two decades, Huangshan has received nearly 30 million visitors.
It's hoped that protecting the scenic mountain's tranquil surrounds will allow it to be enjoyed by many more visitors over future generations.
