Long-awaited releases hit cinemas at the end of year

The end of the year is near, and that means the box office battle for new year season films has begun. The release of Chen Kaige's "Sacrifice" is the first one due out. You can see it on Saturday. In line behind it are a number of other long-awaited releases such as Jiang Wen's "Let the Bullets Fly" and Feng Xiaogang's film "If You Are the One 2."

As the first film of the new year season, "Sacrifice" has actors and actresses to guarantee box-office success. There's Ge You, Huang Xiaoming, and Fan Bingbing. Meanwhile, great posters combined with early and plentiful promotion have attracted a lot of attention from moviegoers.
Moviegoer, said, "I will have great interest to go to the cinema if I see an attractive poster."
Ge Lanlan, General Manager, East China Area, Stellar Int'l, said, "As of the end of November, nation-wide box-office results were about 8.2 billion yuan. This year is estimated to surpass 10 billion yuan. As for the audience, with the increase of films on offer during new year season, I believe more people will come to the cinema."
Ge You has scored a holiday hattrick. He is performing in all three films "Sacrifice", "Let the Bullets Fly" and "If You Are the One 2". Some film fans are worried about over exposure, but insiders believe Ge You's repeated appearance should not be a problem because the three films follow totally different story lines.
Film industry insiders say this new year season is sure to bring great and exciting box-office results. But only the public knows for sure.
