Liu Xiang sought redemption Wednesday night in front of his home fans. He pulled out of the 2008 Beijing Olympic's through injury and has been battling back ever since. No one in the world will be happier than Liu after he successfully made it a hat trick of titles at the Asian Games.

As expected, the world-class 110 meter hurdler made a good start. He stormed across the finish line in a time of 13.09 seconds. As he said after qualification on Sunday night he aimed to run above 13.20 seconds. He also refreshed the Asian Games record. It was the best possible comeback for Liu after missing out at the olympics. Liu's countryman Shi Dongpeng was the runner-up, Two hundredth of a second slower. Park Teakyong of South Korea finished third.
