Zhuhai Air Show opens to public

The Zhuhai Air Show has opened to the public after three days of professional exhibitions.

The airport used for the show has been crowded with hundreds of thousands of people flocking in. Xu zhaoqun reports from Zhuhai.

Weather conditions Friday morning were good for the air demonstration.

Spectators were amazaed by the performance of the demonstrating aircrafts and parachutists.

Mr. Li, "We came from Shenzhen especially for the show. it's wonderful."

Each aircraft parked on the ground is surrounded by people.

The exhibition halls just are as crowded.

Mr. Zha used to be a soldier working in a rocket troop. He is very proud that domestic air and space industries are developing so quickly.

Mr. Zha Xicai, Veteran, said, "When I was a soldier, I just couldn't imagine one day we would have so many planes, now they are designed in China, manufactured in China, and some of them are exported to other countries. The younger generation is making marvellous achievements. I am happy they are doing much better than us."

Nowadays, the private sector is also involved in the air and space industries.

Some of the components of the C919, a jumbo jet developed in China, will be produced by a Sino-German joint venture in Jiangsu province.

Zhang Lixiang, Secretary, CPC Committee of Jianghu County, Jiangsu Prov., said, "We are very proud a local business in our county is also working on such a big project for the country. This is also a symbol that China's air and space industries are unprecedentedly booming. we will give full support to their cooperation."

The air show will be open to the public for the whole weekend.
