China is voicing concern and dissatisfaction with US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's recent remarks concerning the Diaoyu Islands, which has been China's territory since ancient times. Clinton says the Islands fall within the scope of the US-Japan security treaty.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Ma Zhaoxu says "the Chinese government and people will never accept any word or deed that includes the Diaoyu Islands within the scope of the US-Japan Treaty of Mutual Cooperation and Security." He is also urging the US and Japan do more to boost regional peace and stability.
