It's the 7th day since the 20 mainland tourists went missing in Taiwan because of a mudslide. The local bus driver has been confirmed dead. The tour group guide and 19 tourists remain missing.
Meanwhile, nearly 250 Mainland tourists have returned home. Now another group of mainland officials is in Taiwan to facilitate the search.
Zhang Shenglin, the deputy secretary-general of the Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits, has arrived in Taiwan on Wednesday.
She met Vice Chairman of the Taiwan-based Straits Exchange Foundation, Kao Koong-lian, and urged the island authorities to intensify rescue efforts.
Zhang said, "We are very worried about the missing tourists. We hope that the Taiwan authorities could increase the number of rescue workers."
Zhang also thanked the workers who've been supporting the tourists' relatives.
Zhang said, "I would like to give my thanks to you for the concern you are giving to the relatives, as well as the convenience you have provided."
The families could not suppress their emotions.
Zhang: I can understand you. We are trying our best on the searching operation.
Taiwan official: Please do not give up!
Tourist's relative: I trust you!
The Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits is keeping close contact with the Taiwan-based Straits Exchange Foundation on the rescue work.
The Taiwan authorities deployed more than 200 more people for the search on Wednesday. They found two suitcases and some RMB bank notes.
