We begin in the Philippines where Typhoon Megi has killed 13 people and flattened forests and crops in the northern part of the country.
Megi poured massive rainstorms on the capital city as it headed across the sea toward southern China. The Typhoon struck the Philippines on Monday with winds of 2 hundred and 25 kilometers per hour.
Roads in and out of the coastal provinces were deserted and blocked by collapsed trees, power lines and debris.
Local officials expressed concern about residents who had been forced from their homes. But President Benigno Aquino also said that although the typhoon caused significant damage, the loss of life was minimal and lower than expected.
