Scientists in Australia have discovered a possible solution, to effectively reduce greenhouse gases.
A team of researchers, at the University of Sydney, have developed a substance, that acts like a molecular sponge. It contains crystals full of microscopic holes, that can soak up liquids and gases.
Its structure, gives it a large internal surface area, as well as a high capacity for absorption.
The researchers hope, it could be used to soak up carbon dioxide and of course its applications go beyond greenhouse gases. It can store large amounts of ANY gas, including hydrogen.
Scientists believe this could speed-up, the delivery of hydrogen-fueled cars. If all goes well, the inventors hope it will be commercially available very soon maybe 10 years?
