The torch of the 16th Asian Games has arrived in Guangzhou, the host city of the Games, in south China's Guangdong province. The torch arrived at the Guangzhou airport on Tuesday before dark. Local officials attended a ceremony to mark its arrival.

The torch will be transferred to Zhongshan city where it will begin its relay on Wednesday. In the next month, the relay is scheduled to go through Harbin, Changchun, Haiyang and 21 cities in Guangdong province, concluding in Guangzhou with the lighting of the Asian Games cauldron during the opening ceremony on November 12th.
