Daming Palace in Xi'an in northwest China's Shaanxi province is a longtime center of politics and economics. It has experienced all the ups and downs of the Tang Dynasty. The thousand-year-old site has now been opened to the public as a National Heritage Park. Since October 1st, tourists have been able to go back into the peak age of feudal history. And when sun sets, a different but more colorful attraction is showcased.

Walking into the location, visitors first see two groups of red lanterns about 10 meters high, festively decorating the Danfeng Gate. A series of crimson lamp posts along Yudao Plaza, together with colorful underground lighting, make the restored site resemble a downtown skyline. Micro architecture is also highlighted at the complex. But just when travelers find themselves immersed in the Tang Dynasty, florid fireworks displays pull them right back into the modern Daming Palace of today.
