China has successfully launched the "SinoSat-6," a radio and television broadcast satellite. The payload blasted off in the early hours of Sunday morning, from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwest China's Sichuan Province.
The satellite was carried on the Long March 3B rocket. The SinoSat-6 has a designed lifespan of 15 years and is a great boost to China's scientific development. In the following days, the Xi'an Satellite Control Center and Yuanwang tracking ship will manipulate the satellite's position and transfer it to enter a geo-stationary orbit.
