In Japan, new-born twin giant pandas have make their media debut. The panda cubs were born over three weeks ago at a zoo in Shirahama.
Adventure World zoo in the Wakayama prefecture says the cubs are doing well. They have quadrupled their birth weight to a healthy 700 grams.
The zoo says that beginning Saturday, it is allowing visitors to catch a glimpse of the twins twice a day.
The cuddly brother and sister were born on August 11th to proud mother Liang Bin, a 10-year-old Japan-born panda, and father Yong Ming, who originally came from China.
The twin giant pandas were born under a Sino-Japanese cooperation program on giant panda breeding. Since the program began 16 years ago, 12 pandas have been born and 11 of them are still living.
