Along the way, he and his companions are met with demons, monsters, and villains. The Monkey King uses his magic powers to keep them all safe.

He has always been a favorite childhood hero, and his story has been adapted for many art forms.

Ma Xiwu, Actor, said, "People always say: changing with the times. Children like the traditional puppets, but they are too small for the big stage. So, it'd be better if actors performed with the puppets, and we included that in the show. In fact, not only the Monkey King, many puppet performances now include actors."

Clearly, it's a hit with a modern twist.

Here everything is possible: an underwater background on huge screens, turtles ringing Monkey King for help,Monkey King flying over on cables,, and battling a new enemy: pollution.His adventure in the East Sea helps the audience members learn about the issues we face today.
