A bus carrying Russian tourists skidded off a highway in southern Turkey and fell off a bridge, killing at least 16 passengers and injuring 25 others.

The bus flipped and fell about six meters into a river bed. The Turkish driver and a tour guide are among the dead. Local authorities say the driver fell asleep at the wheel. The bus was travelling from the province of Alanya, a resort which is popular with Russian and German tourists, to the scenic Pamukkale waterfall near the central city of Denizli.
