After months of work on the wreck of a 400-year-old merchant vessel, "Nan'ao-1", off south China's Guangdong Province, the salvage team has found over 800 pieces of relics.

Archaeologists believe the ship which sank in the Sandianjin waters off Nan'ao county, shantou city, may have been carrying 10,000 pieces of blue-and-white porcelain, mostly made during the Ming Dynasty. Sheet copper and coins have also been found during the salvage operation. Now the outside dredging operation is complete and the salvage team has started de-silting the interior of the ship.
