The 7.1-magnitude quake that struck the Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Yushu has left 2,183 people dead, 84 missing, and 12,135 injured. Significant progress has been made in relief work in the region.
Relief materials including nearly 40-thousand weather-proof tents, food, drinking water cotton quilts and clothes have arrived at quake-hit areas.
Telecommunications have been restored in Yushu and power supply is efficient enough to meet daily needs and rescue work.
Qinghai provincial authorities are assessing damage to historical and cultural relics to draw up plans for their restoration.
