The International Air Traffic Association or IATA has called the European response to the volcano crisis "dissatisfactory" but says transport ministries now seem to be moving in the right direction.

According to IATA spokesman, Anthony Concil, the crisis is having a massive impact on the European aviation industry.

Anthony Concil, IATA Spokesman, said, "We were quite dissatisfied with the process and the speed that it took the governments to what they agreed yesterday. The fact that you have an enormous amount of dislocation in the European economy. So we have a long-term issue that going forward we need to find a better way for decision making. Nonetheless. yesterday was a step in the right direction and we will be working with the government to try and ensure co-ordination between the governments air navigation service providers and the airlines going forward to ensure that they are opened up."
