The two sides exchanged views on China-U.S. economic relations, the world economic situation, and issues relating to the upcoming economic track dialogue of the second China-U.S. Strategic and Economic Dialogues, which are to be held this May in the Chinese capital.
Geithner's sudden visit comes after the US government announced a delay in a currency exchange report on major trading partners, to Congress. During his earlier visit to India, Geithner said it's up to China to decide whether or not to revalue the rate of the yuan. But he said the US government will continue to press China to make its currency more flexible.
