More and more people are heading back to their hometowns in the traditional Spring Festival travel peak this week. Against snowfalls, traffic departments have had to step up their efforts to maintain order at railway stations, airports and bus terminals.

Beijing Capital International Airport delayed 43 flights and cancelled 7 others due to the snow. Emergency plans were initiated Saturday. Airport officials allocated more manpower to divert passenger flows. The snow on three runways has been cleared.

For city cleaners, snow is the call to return to the streets. They have been working since the snow began falling on Saturday night. Thanks to their efforts, traffic on the capital's roads remains smooth.
