Chinese peacekeepers in Haiti have led a nervous, busy life since the earthquake hit. They seldom have the chance to contact their families back home. The cameras of our reporting team are giving them a little help.

Shi Weihong, Chinese Peacekeeper, said, "I'm fine at here. Give my regards to our parents. Take good care of our daughter, Jia Jia. Look, this is our dining room. It's pretty good."

The short video was played again and again. Shi Weihong's folks did not want to miss any detail.

Shi's daughter was delighted to see her father, and Shi's wife says the whole family was relieved after watching the video.

Hou Wenyu, Chinese Peacekeeper, said, "Just finished the escort mission. How are you, Yuling? I'm quite well. Take care of Dad and Mom, and the child. I know Northeast China is cold this year, so take care of yourself. Don't worry, Just wait for me."

Hou Wenyu' Wife, said, "Hou Wenyu, you must come back safe and sound."

Hou Wenyu' Parents, said, "I feel easy now. Though conditions are tough, you go there on behalf of the country. So you have to do credit to it. Keep holding on. We look forward to the day of your triumphant return."

For those who are separated, they can't even have a real conversation with their loved ones. But there is a reunion of sorts, far across the distance…

This afternoon, the Chinese epidemic prevention team, with medicine and equipment, will leave for Port-au-Prince.
