The designing duo Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana created a day on the ski slopes, from an early morning run, to a late night party in a cosy chalet.

Replete with bulky Nordic printed sweaters, knitted hats and scarves, snow boots, and shiny ski suits, the collection is a skiers delight.

After a rough day on the slopes the D&G snow jock peels off his suit and is ready to charm the apres-ski crowd in a soft and sexy velvet Tuxedo.

The collection's theme picked up on a new trend, especially among the young to mingle fashion and sport.

Etro's show opened with a model walking down the catwalk clad as a country gentleman, complete with jodhpurs, cravat and, a fake owl, tucked under his arm.

Kean Etro said that his collection was inspired by nature and, pointing to the fluffy owl attached to his shoulder, that a special friend awakened his creativity.

Other models, minus the owls, strutted their stuff in chic padded coats and chunky knits teamed with jeans.

Sharp tailoring was also evident with masculine blazers teamed with tight fitting, ankle grazing trousers.

The color palette was autumnal, with models dressed in burnt oranges, apple greens and deep purples.
